El Capitano Pizzeria and Bar can be found via the laneway entry on Hastings Street, near CafĂ© Le Monde. A bespoke “secret door” winds up the stairs into a stunning nautical-themed dining room and bar.

The experience is reminiscent of a New York speakeasy prohibition; it’s the type of place you would expect to see Hemingway perched at the bar.

El Capitano Pizzeria is deservedly famous for its organic sourdough pizzas. Made using certified organic fresh milled flour and a 72-hour fermentation process, the slow natural leavening gives the dough a unique flavour.

All ingredients are fresh and locally sourced from the Noosa Farmers Market, and salami and mozzarella selections are all Australian-made using premium ingredients.

El Capitano Pizzeria offers antipasti, starters, gluten-free pizza, a range of side salads, and award-winning gelato! To start, try the octopus tentacle with roast almond tarator, olive and raisin salsa.

Then the slow-roasted lamb shoulder pizza, fior di latte, black olives, goat’s cheese and gremolata or the local tiger prawn pizza with Noosa reds, chilli, confit garlic, fior di latte, lemon and parsley.

The drinks list features signature cocktails, local craft beers on tap, boutique wines, and bespoke spirits featuring local distillers.

A must-try is the new cocktail, Holy Water. Transport your taste buds with this tasty tipple; it has never tasted so good! The wine list also features minimal intervention with biodynamic, vegan and sustainable options.

Live acoustic artists feature every Wednesday for the “Hump Day Sessions”. In addition, El Capitano Pizzeria offers dine-in and takeaway pizza and is open seven days a week from 5 pm.
