Eumundi Brewery

The Eumundi Brewery was one of Australia’s first true craft breweries, with the Eumundi Lager released in 1988. Like the town itself, Eumundi Brewery has a long history under the surface of its laid-back veneer.

Despite its fame and the volume of visitors that attend one of the largest markets in Australia, Eumundi manages to retain a quiet country charm that oozes from the Fig trees and typical Queensland verandas of pubs and shop fronts.

The Eumundi Brewery manages to pull off the same balancing act. Resurrected in 2017 with financial support from the owner, Lion, the brewery remains on-site at the Imperial Hotel. It retains the craft brewing feel and an eye for supporting local tastes, artists, and attitudes.

Eumundi Brewery focuses on lagers and pale ales with a core range that includes their Refreshing Lager, a mid-strength Pale Ale, and an easy-drinking alcoholic Ginger Beer.

Having laid the foundation with their core offering, the team at Eumundi Brewery have branched out with several limited releases pairing local inspiration and ingredients with both classic and innovative styles.

A touch of Macadamia is added to the classic German dark lager to create their MacDunk. Hemp oil provides a twist in the Cannabock Amber Lager, and the Autumn Spice Ale has the delicate application of local honey and turmeric to spice things up.

A partnership with the Bundaberg Rum Distillery has led to a much-anticipated collaboration, giving birth to a West Coast IPA that includes a hearty helping of Bundaberg Small Batch Spiced Rum that combines the cinnamon and clove nose from the rum with the citrus nose of the IPA and a hint of ginger to finish.

If you’re curious about the history of brewing in Eumundi, you can book a 20-minute Eumundi Brewery Tour and Taste. The free tours run hourly from 11 am to 2 pm Wednesday and Saturday and include a taste of one of the beers.

While you can enjoy Eumundi Brewery beers in cans or bottles, one of the best ways to sample their wares is to kick back at the Imperial Hotel, where everything is on tap and connected directly to the serving tanks in the brewery. Beer doesn’t get any fresher than that.

An iconic Queensland pub serving a fresh take on one of our proudest and oldest craft breweries in one of our most treasured country towns, a stone’s throw from the vibe and energy of Noosa. What could be better?
